I know this is US politics; and everyone’s possibly fed up with hearing about it + I know I’ve insinuated before that I wasn’t going to go there too – But one major thing I noticed with regard to Sarah Palin stands out so much that I simply have to comment on it:-

On Wednesday night Palin is reported to have said:

“To the families of special-needs children all across this country, I have a message: For years, you sought to make America a more welcoming place for your sons and daughters. I pledge to you that if we are elected, you will have a friend and advocate in the White House.”

In fact, Palin cut funding for services for Alaska’s special needs children by 60 percent, according to an analysis of state budgets. When people have to bend the truth and make crass boobs such as that then you can be sure they’re up to no good.

And Finally…

Let’s not forget 16 year old Jamie Lynn Spears, who got herself knocked up by her 18 year old boyfriend, who’s uncle just happens to be a Baptist pastor: Legally that’s called statutory rape in some States IIRC.

She’s already confessed to sleeping around. In an Associated Press interview conducted shortly before Thanksgiving, Jamie Lynn said she did not have a steady boyfriend. “I kind of just keep my options open,” she told AP. “I have a bunch of friends that I always hang out with, a bunch of guy friends.”

In the OK! interview, Jamie Lynn said she had met Aldridge at church. To me that seems to ring a familiar note for US politics: A religious sex scandal – Republican territory I believe. (I’m just trying to unite the two unrelated stories…OK – FAIL.)

Having said my piece I’m now hoping to stay off the subject of politics in further posts.
