Beyond

I’ve had these hanging around on my desk for a few months now: I call them my “Real fags”. I see some of my American readers asking ‘Eh? WTF is she on about?’

Well for the benefit of those who don’t know; in England “fags” is a slang term for cigarettes - Which is exactly what these are; cigarettes.

My friend Sue bought them for me from the gay area of San Francisco when she was on holiday in the United States and Mexico last year.

I’ve only smoked one; and they taste appalling! Nevertheless they are very pretty, yes I’d go as far as to say very gay, fags - I mean cigarettes.

Does anyone have any more information on these cigarettes? - Like are they sold anywhere else? internationally even? I can see that they were manufactured in Belgium exclusively for Kretek International Inc, of Moorpark, California, USA - It says so on the back of the packet; but there’s no other info on it.

It’s about time I advertised again come to think of it. I’ve been running an almost ad-free blog up until now; with just a single advertisement appearing on the index page and in a few posts. The news is that this will change soon and I’ll be going much more commercial: The ad-free days are numbered - Well something has to pay for this blog and I don’t see why it should be me. I just write the posts and pages.

I wanted to concentrate on getting a decent number of posts and pages up before I advertised for real; otherwise if the blog’s all ads and nothing else there’s no point looking at it in the first place from a readers’ perspective.

OK that’s it for this post: I need a coffee; the geek elixir of life.
