Secure External Hard Drive
|
In this day and age many people tend to worry about the security of their external hard drives: If an external disk gets stolen it’s not just the physical cost that one might have to worry about. Korean company IOTEK has a digital solution to external hard drive security in the form of the ezSECU ez850
It is a SATA HDD enclosure, with an LCD Touchscreen that will ask for a PIN number to access the data on the drive inside it. According to the manufacturer; even if the drive is removed from the enclosure, it’ll still not be possible to access the encrypted data without the PIN. The enclosure measures 80x130x23 mm, and compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Linux and Mac OS X. This portable drive works by means of USB 2.0. It appears as “Data Locker” on tomsguide.com The cost is about $150. |
