I’ve been working on this and introducing it in stages over the past 3 weeks, starting at the end of October and working up to the middle of November 2011, in a ‘clandestine-style’ operation of subtlety.
Welcome to the new 2012-look for Kkomp.com – Beyond: -
On posts – various pastel shades of grey below a blue-tinted header outline an off-white content area – which highlights and compliments the article, share buttons, comment area, and associated advertisements. The sidebar widget area contrasts the content area and its light-grey surround with its darker pastel blue-grey background. ![]()
Most pages, including the Home Page, have a simpler design; with the off-white content-area standing out from its light-grey surround. On pages where the widget area exists, this once again stands out in contrast; in a similar fashion to the way it gently contrasts with posts with its darker-grey appearance.
The header’s branding is further-complimented with a pastel blue shade, allowing it to stand out from the other content of both pages and posts. To assist the design’s feel of neo-symmetry all footers are broken up with a two-tone design which incorporates a banded-combination of the look of the widget-area, as well as the content-area’s immediate surround.![]()
It’s Hybrid
As I may have mentioned previously; I’ve been hacking the TwentyTen theme for quite some time in an attempt to gain a new and definitive appearance for this blog. The result is a hybrid technical cross-breeding of the TwentyTen and TwentyEleven themes with a unique artistic twist, in a blend of contrast with pastel-diffusion with regard to the mongrel-theme’s cosmetic appearance. I currently have no intention of sharing or marketing the theme, which I’ve renamed to TwentyTenPlus; however this may change after development and implementation of the next theme, at whatever point in the future.
It’s Calming
This blog’s theme says “Relax. – It’s technical, and in a way complex; but here are some of the answers – usually presented in an easy-to-understand format wherever possible.”.
It’s Enthusing
The theme gives dimension and adds a touch of complexity to an otherwise colourless and lifeless background; just as, in a similar manner, this blog attempts to bring understanding and to add and share enlightenment to the largely blandly cold and emotionless subject of working along with 21st Century computer technology in order to create a better existence and to help solve a few of the problems involved in doing so: To give the reader that extra little bit of information so that he or she can go just that little bit further than their peers in confronting the issues arising from working with computers, and therefore solve problems and always be just that one or two steps ahead of others.![]()
It’s Purposeful
You’re reading Kkomp.com – Beyond: The blog where you can maybe find the snippet of information that’s been eluding you; where you can gain some insight into not just using your computer as a tool to assist you in your day-to-day living, but also gain a valuable foothold by reading techniques and tips that could assist you in creating something with the assistance of your computer, and even making a living from that.
This new look adds visual dimension and contrast with an aura of subtlety to an otherwise fairly emotionless subject, whilst not appearing to be either outlandish or overly demonstrative.
