I’m gonna do something that I don’t recall doing before on this blog: I’m gonna recommend a WordPress plugin. I’m sure that many blogs have done this before; but I’m gonna go beyond that; I’m going to test it, with your help. – Well, after all, this is Kkomp.com – Beyond.

STOP PRESS: – The plugin mentioned has broken and will not be fixed – according to my plugins list. It has been causing a warning message to be displayed at the top of every page and post until I deactivated and deleted it from this blog.

Why?

Because I like the idea of this particular plugin…

OK – when you look at some of the big-name sites/blogs, you see that there are a load of comments on their posts, and you also see that their readers rate those comments; like or dislike. – Yeah I know Facebook only have a “like” button, and many of their users want a “dislike” button too. (- Because a lot of FB comments are so totally crass…)

Anyway, in the light of that; Kkomp.com – Beyond has gone one better than Facebook, all with the assistance of a free plugin available for WordPress blogs only, authored by “disfir”, called “Comment Ratings”. – You can already comment on and share a post on this blog. – That’s all been sorted for quite a while. Now – just as with Facebook, you can “like” a comment, + you can also do what you can’t on Facebook; “dislike” a comment too.

This plugin allows your visitors to rate comments with ‘Like’ vs. ‘Dislike’ with clickable images. The more “like”s the comment gets, the higher it goes in the list of comments on the page. – Conversely the more “dislike”s it gets the lower it falls – thus allowing your readers to moderate the comments which you allow to be shown and place them in order of most liked at the top of the list.

I do suggest that you, as a blog-owner, continue to moderate comments on your own blog. This plugin will be fun for your readers to use, in addition to allowing you to automate the prominent display of popular comments.

Practicality.

So how well does this plugin work?

Well that’s what I’m testing out on my blog at this moment. I’ve only just installed and activated the plugin, and now I’m looking for a number of comments to test it out with – in regard to this post.
