Things appear to be heading in the right direction from a personal point of view right now; and that includes with regard to this blog too. I’m staying on a technological theme with regard to the technology of computers and electronics. I’ll continue covering the same type of tech articles that I always have to a partial extent, and I’m also in future going to be covering the social technologies; including blogging, social media, and online marketing now and into the future, as I have been doing this year (2010) to date to some extent. I’ll also be bringing you some of the latest and the best offers in online educational courses.
I’m not going to be the impersonal one behind the scenes as I appear to have been during 2008,9. The days of being the unseen technician keeping everything running are long over. Heck I own and pay for this blog; it has massive potential, so I’m going to start utilising that potential and make the most of it.
How does that affect you? Well people will still keep coming here from the search engines, grabbing the free information they want without leaving anything in return, and disappearing again, as per usual. – That’s a given. Free content will continue to be produced and added, just as before, plus I’ll be re-writing/republishing many of the old articles on this new start for this blog as of November 2010
I want to know my readers though. I’m not just a writer in a lonely castle far away; I’m a person, a human being. Whilst I can’t obviously meet all of you personally, face to face; I can do the next best thing: A lot of my works and writings are here on the internet on this blog and a few others. You can access them any time you like, and if the work is free then you can take as much or as little as you like of it with you- no charge., and give as little or as much input as you like in return, as has always been the case.
Socially there’s a lot missing from that though; Me. Yes I am big (As in large-structured.); there’s a lot to me, but not just physically: I have an intelligent mind full of so much more than I can convey to you on an impersonal level. I don’t intend to waste “me” any longer.
All blogs, including this blog, have incredible potential for growth, for social and interpersonal interaction, for conveyance of information and for income generation.
If you’re a blogger; some of the content of the above paragraphs may apply to you: You are a unique human being, an individual, a living entity. You have something unique to share, in addition to just information alone. Of course there are social networks such as Twitter and Facebook on which you can also do this; but these should be an extension of your blog, part of a web-wide network of captured internet real-estate that carries your own personal brand linked to your blog itself. It is through this means that a person becomes known and popularises their own personal brand.
A real-life example shows that, socially, the same is true outside of cyberspace in the real
world: If one has no friends, never allows anyone to see them at home, and sits at home all day writing letters for publication, but is never seen and never goes out or has any social contact whatsoever, then that person is only known by their published letters and nothing else. If that same person then joins a social activity and interaction group, their “Twitter” then that person makes friends and eventually many of those friends will come to visit them at the person’s home; their “blog”. if the previously reclusive person then goes out to town, their “Facebook”, does shopping, browses round in the library, has a snack in the cafe’, bumps into people and creates new relationships, then once again people are going to get to know the person and some will eventually visit the person at their home, their “blog”. – Do you see the pattern emerging here? The person then invites the people they have come to know to their home or blog and they interact there…
So I’m not intending to stay shut away; this blog is no longer a technology blog: This blog is now a technology and me blog; and the two have a very good relationship with one another.
– More than that, though, I want this to be a technology and me and you blog; that is a technology and me and all of you readers blog. – That’s what I’m aiming at: I not only want you to know me, I also want to know you as a whole; your likes, dislikes, opinions. – Why not share them on this blog via the comments section underneath every post? It doesn’t matter if you’re white or coloured-skinned, if you have blond or brunette hair, brown or blue or hazel eyes, what you look like in general. – I’m not trying to start a beauty-contest, I just want to get to know people via online interaction – unique individual people. Physical beauty is skin-deep; whereas personality is the life and soul of an individual. – In turn you’ll become known online by your social interaction, and a cascade effect of sorts will ensue. – You too will then be injecting your own “me” into the equation.
